 Degenerate Chaser Must Lose

by Degenerated

Why must we lose? Because we will never stick to the game plan. At many points in a session the Degenrate Chaser will always give up any skill advantage he has over the other players by doing something irrational and emotion based. When we win we gamble more. When we are stuck we gamble more. A degenrate chaser is never better than during his first hand when all of the things he promised he would do are fresh in his mind. Thats assuming he is not bring the last losing session or sesions to the table with him. Then he is a loser before he even sits down.

Is there anything we can do about it?

No. A degenerate always returns to his nature. All player return to their nature (TJ Cloutier has said this). A tight player can go into a game with a strategy to play looser but before long he is back where he is comfortable. What is the nature of a degenerate chaser? Not making the good laydowns because he hopes beyond hope that his opponent is bluffing or over valueing their hand. Dan Harrington says most bets means just what they look like they mean. People put money in the pot because they like their hand. Especially against a degenerate chaser who will take the worst of it everytime.

My advice is to quit playing all together but I know you will not. For the same reason I will not. Like Cully Cross from "Fools Die" said, degenerate gambling is like malaria. It will always pop back up eventually.
